As a night owl, it's not often that I shoot early morning sessions. I prefer the golden, dramatic lighting in the final hour before sunset. For some clients, the only time that will work for their schedule (and with nap time and early summer bedtime for little ones) is to shoot first thing in the morning. It takes a bit of planning- and a bigger-than-normal cup of coffee, but the payoff for early morning sessions is SO worth it.
Anyone who has spent a warm summer evening in Boston knows just how busy it can be with residents and tourists alike out for their evening stroll. When I shot this family session at the Boston Public Garden, we were the only ones there for most of the session. The soft, morning sun filtering through the trees and between buildings and me chasing after these beautiful kiddos without interruption- magical! I may have to start changing my night-owl ways to take advantage of these early mornings in the city more often!
