WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE YOU AS MY PHOTOGRAPHER?
I hope by now you have had a chance to poke around my website and fall in love with my images. Hopefully, my art will speak for itself, but there is so much more that goes into finding and selecting a professional photographer.
I am a published, award-winning photographer with nearly a decade of experience working with the tiniest and most precious subjects. I am committed to not only providing you with beautiful, timeless images, but also a pleasant customer experience. I am fully-insured, carry top of the line gear, backup equipment at every session, and take the greatest care in ensuring you receive beautifully hand-retouched images. I am a proud member of the National Association of Professional Child Photographers and further my education in the art of photography throughout the year.
WHAT TYPE OF IMAGES WILL I RECEIVE?
You will receive the retouched, high-resolution images from your session, either electronically via digital download or on a USB. You will also receive a print-release, allowing you to print images at a preferred lab at your leisure. All images are hand-retouched without the use of filters or presets, creating a classic, timeless look.
HELP! WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR FOR OUR LIFESTYLE NEWBORN, MATERNITY OR FAMILY SESSION?
The age-old question! In order to achieve light, airy photographs, I recommend you wear light, mostly solid clothing. Soft pastels, whites and creams photograph beautifully and create a classic look. If you are a lover of color, we will discuss our shooting location and what colors and patterns will flatter you and your family. Upon booking, I will send you a Style Guide, which provides more information.
WHAT IF MOTHER NATURE ISN'T COOPERATING THE DAY OF MY SESSION?
In the event of extreme temperatures, high wind or rain, I will reschedule your outdoor session. And since it can be a labor of love getting your family dressed and out the door, I will generally make a final decision 3-4 hours before your session start-time.
WHEN ARE NEWBORNS *BEST* PHOTOGRAPHED?
Within the first two weeks of life, with days 5-12 being the best. Your new baby will still be very sleepy, curled up, and will have that newborn look that passes so quickly. If you are outside of that window or need a little more time to rest and bond, that's perfectly fine too! Your little one may be a little more alert, giving us the opportunity to capture some awake shots.
WHAT TYPE OF NEWBORN SESSIONS DO YOU OFFER?
I offer in-home lifestyle newborn sessions. These sessions focus on the beautiful bond between new parents and their newborn baby. Sessions provide a mix of semi-posed and candid images. Siblings, grandparents, and furry friends are always welcome and encouraged to take part in your photo session. At the end of each session, I will capture lightly posed, solo images of your new baby. All blankets, wraps, and fabrics will be provided to use during your session.
DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH BIRTHS?
No. Due to the on-call nature of these sessions and with children of my own at home, I would not be a reliable option for this type of work. However, I do shoot FRESH 48 Sessions, taken at the hospital or place of delivery within one to two days following delivery.
